Honda Civic Wins “Best Compact Car Of 2017” Challenge By Cars.com
The 2017 Honda Civic claimed the top spot in the Cars.com Compact Car Challenge. The Honda Civic was praised by Cars.com for its style, amenities and attention to detail. In order to qualify for the challenge vehicles had to cost less than $23,000, have an EPA combined fuel economy of at least 31 mph and an interior volume of over 91 cubic feet.
The 2017 Honda Civic is powered by a 2.0 liter four-cylinder engine with an output of 158 hp. Buyers who want more power can opt for the turbocharged 1.5 liter four-cylinder engine. It comes standard with a six-speed manual transmission with the option of adding in a CVT. The Civic is agile around corners and offers excellent steering feedback.
The Honda Civic offers seating for five passengers and comes standard with cloth upholstery. Additional seating options include leather and temperature controlled seats. Standard interior features include a rearview camera, stereo system, USB port and Bluetooth connectivity. Optional features include push button start, a 7″ touch screen, satellite radio and navigation system. Audio controls on the steering wheel makes it easy to adjust the stereo system while driving.
Cargo space stands at 15.1 cubic feet for the sedan and 12.1 cubic feet for the coupe version. The hatchback version comes with 25.7 cubic feet which is expandable to 46.2 cubic feet with the seats folded. A large number of safety features are available including ESC, daytime running lights, child safety locks, brake assist and traction control.
